ROCKHURST UNIVERSITY

Rockhurst University is a private, Jesuit Catholic university located in Kansas City, Missouri. The beautiful 55-acre campus is centrally located in Kansas City, a thriving metropolis with a diverse population of more than 2 million people. The highest caliber of academia, leadership, and service to others is the foundation in which we build a transformative experience for students. For over 100 years, Rockhurst has educated students rooted in the liberal arts tradition.

Our program provides undergraduate and graduate students with a solid background in their chosen field using research-informed teaching practices for either the classroom or professional setting. Our mission is to develop educational leaders - teachers who are actively engaged in educational matters as collaborative, reflective practitioners, who support environments that are challenging, ethical, and inclusive. We foster inquiry, intellectual creativity, and evidence-based decision making to equip our students to face the challenges of our global society. Our students become men and women for and with others, and we model and provide academic excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

The Rockhurst University educator preparation programs are approved on the national level through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). We are accredited on the state level by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
