Job Summary
The Shipping Wrap and Loader is an essential job in preparing modular units for shipping by applying weatherproofing wrap and securing unit internals, ensuring they are safe for transportation prior to loading onto truck and trailer.
Responsibilities
· Load and secure appliances and countertops into modular units to prepare for shipping
- Wrap modules in weather proofing materials, and apply shrink wrap using propane torches and heat guns to guarantee a secure, weather tight seal during transit
- Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists and jacks to maneuver and position modules onto trailers with precision
- Accurately measure and cut protective materials to precise specifications using hand and power tools
- Maintain strict safety standards while working at various heights
- Read and understand blueprints or plans to ensure proper placement and final checks for modular units prior to shipping
Qualifications
- 0-3 years of experience in shipping, manufacturing, or warehouse work
- Ability to use hand, power, and pneumatic tools
- Understanding of measurements, fractions, and calculations for layout and cutting tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
- Follow detailed instructions and directions.
What Will Put You Ahead
- 3+ Years of shipping or warehouse work
- 3+ years of residential or commercial construction experience.
- Proven history of high-quality work.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work at various heights either in a lift or using fall prevention equipment
- Candidates may have to lift upwards of 70 pounds at a time either alone, or with the help of a team member
- Perform physically demanding tasks for prolonged periods including standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling
Compensation
Minimum Starting Wage: $18.00 per hour
Maximum Starting Wage: $26.00 per hour
