This position is responsible for all outbound operations management, as well as having direct responsibility for the accurate reporting of various labor and performance metrics for the entire distribution center and direct responsibility for the efficient utilization of manpower in the Shipping and Administration areas
Responsiblties:
- Responsible for directing programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the shipping department
- Responsible for ensuring the completion of the distribution center’s responsibilities in regards to the Revman direct shipping program
- Responsible for scheduling services relating to storing, shipping, replenishing and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner
- Responsible for creating meaningful reports reflecting key indicators of the distribution center’s performance to improve overall efficiency and costs per carton/unit
- Responsible for partnering with Director of Distribution, Receiving Manager and other supervisors to establish goals, review metrics, review FTE analysis on a weekly basis
- Responsible for monitoring the space layout of the DC to ensure that travel sequences and pick modules are managed to meet desired productivity
- Responsible for providing weekly reports on labor performance with key indicators to help achieve budgetary goals
- Responsible for outlining the objectives of the Shipping Department
- Responsible for applying sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling and disciplining subordinates
- Responsible for developing and maintaining working relationship with customer’s distribution facilities to ensure compliance issues are addressed, monitor customer route guides and communicate changes as needed
- Responsible for enforcing programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property
- Responsible for providing safety instruction to personnel as needed, both formal and informal
- Responsible for establishing departmental policy for the maintenance of, and adherence to, customer routing and compliance guides
- Maintain staffing levels and training needs of departmental personnel
- Responsible for ensuring 90% of the monthly potential sales are executed according to plan
- Responsible for determining, using sales forecasts and history, proper slotting and replenishment strategies which will ensure the most productive shipping environment
- Responsible for resolving any issues or challenges arising from customer requirements that require shipping department intervention
- Responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers
- Responsible for developing, maintaining and reporting production standards to senior management
- Responsible for monitoring customer route guides and partner with Revman Compliance officials to ensure that all outbound shipments are customer compliant
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing, supply or warehouse environment
- Five to seven years of experience in Distribution Management
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Excel
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in order to effectively communicate and report information to all levels of the Company
- Possess good organizational and mathematical skills
- Possess strong leadership skills along with good interpersonal skills
- Ability to problem solve as needed along with possessing good analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize work, be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
- Ability to multi-task on a routine basis, be detail-oriented, adapt plans and change direction as needed, have a proactive mindset and have the ability to perform the job under a moderate to high level of stress

- Willingness to be potentially exposed to moving mechanical parts and tools, moving powered industrial equipment, moving vehicles, fumes or airborne particles, high places, changing weather conditions and moderate to high noise level in a Distribution Center environment
