Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Daytime Custodian at our High School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, ensuring that all areas of the school are well-kept and conducive to learning.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
- Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events, meetings, and activities as needed.
- Monitor and restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials in restrooms and common areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of the school facilities to identify maintenance needs and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and replacing filters.
- Support the school community by responding to custodial requests in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a clean and safe environment for all students and staff.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Availability to work full-time during daytime hours, including some evenings or weekends as needed.
- Background check and clearance required prior to employment.
