responsibilities:
- Serve as a process leader for machine shop operations, optimizing quality, capability, and output across CNC machines, lathes, and 5-axis mills.
- Lead root cause investigations on out-of-spec parts using 8D and structured problem-solving to implement effective corrective actions and controls.
- Evaluate and refine measurement methods, interpret GD&T, and perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to establish reliable inspection strategies.
- Document floor processes and establish standard work at stations currently relying only on drawings to drive consistency across the shop.
- Manage small-to-midsize projects independently while serving as a collaborative liaison between engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.
qualifications:
Engineering degree combined with hands-on experience in machining processes (CNC, lathes, 5-axis mills) and precision inspection methods.
Proven ability to analyze root causes, establish sampling plans, create process documentation, and drive cross-functional continuous improvement.
Preferred familiarity with GD&T interpretation, MSA (Gage R&R), LEAN/6-Sigma frameworks (8D, FMEA), and SAP systems.
