Industrial Painter & Material Handler
Location: York, PA Shift: 2nd Shift Job Type: Direct Hire Pay Rate: Up to $23.00/Hour (Depending on Experience) + $3.00/Hour Shift Differential
Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable Industrial Painter and Material Handler to assist with painting, equipment movement, and daily shop operations. About 20% of the job involves industrial painting, while the remaining time focuses on rigging, material handling, and production support.
Responsibilities
• Prepare surfaces and apply industrial paints and protective coatings.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move, load, unload, and position materials.
• Rig and secure materials for safe lifting and transport.
• Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions.
• Move materials between work areas and assist with general production tasks.
• Follow PPE requirements and safe practices for handling paints and chemicals.
• Complete respiratory fit testing and comply with workplace safety procedures.
Qualifications
• Experience with industrial painting, surface preparation, or coating application.
• Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, or similar material-handling equipment.
• Knowledge of rigging, load handling, and safe material movement.
• Ability to read measurements and accurately use a tape measure.
• Ability to pass a respiratory fit test.
• Understanding of industrial safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), and chemical handling.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team while performing duties beyond painting.
