The City of Purcell Parks and Recreation Department is hiring for a Parks Ground Maintenance. Applicants must be sociable, attention detailed, outdoor enthusiasts, who enjoy fast paced and physically demanding landscaping work! Hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday with some events on weekends. Main job focus will be to plant, weed, cultivate, water, and maintain planting bed areas. Parks maintenance entails mowing large acreages with push mowers & zero turn mowers, trimming, edging, leaf blowing, general landscaping, tree trimming and limb removal, playground maintenance and repair, facility maintenance, repair, & janitorial service, public trash and waste collection, equipment maintenance and repair, assisting the public with the use of our parks & facilities, and assisting with public events! Horticulture experience is preferred. Experience with small gasoline engines and landscaping equipment is plus but not required. Must have valid Oklahoma driver's license. Employee is frequently required to stand, talk, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, hear, see, and smell. May also lift or move heavy objects. Vision requirements may include color, peripheral, depth perception, distance and ability to adjust focus.
