Description
About Protora Protora is formerly C Speed. We build radar and surveillance systems that give military and government customers eyes on their airspace, borders, and critical sites. Our name draws from the Praetorian Guard, elite soldiers whose job was to watch and protect. That history shapes our mission today: we take first watch, so the people we protect don't have to. We are a growing company with a new brand and a clear direction.
The Role Protora is hiring a Mechanical Assembler to assemble, install, and integrate mechanical components and subassemblies used in complex radar, surveillance, and electromechanical systems. This role works closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality to ensure assemblies meet technical specifications, workmanship standards, and production requirements.
An initial priority will be supporting production startup and assembly activities at Protora's new manufacturing facility, including establishing consistent assembly practices and supporting production ramp-up.
The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and hands-on assembly experience with the ability to follow technical instructions and maintain quality in a precision manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform mechanical assembly and integration of components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly diagrams, bills of material (BOMs), and technical documentation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measuring instruments to complete assembly tasks accurately and safely.
- Install and secure mechanical components, including brackets, housings, fasteners, structural assemblies, and related hardware.
- Verify component fit, alignment, dimensions, and assembly quality against established specifications.
- Perform basic mechanical adjustments, inspections, and functional checks as required.
- Identify and report assembly discrepancies, damaged components, and quality concerns to Production and Quality personnel.
- Maintain accurate assembly records, work orders, material traceability, and required production documentation.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to resolve assembly issues and support process improvements.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient workstation, following applicable safety and workmanship standards.
- Support assembly setup and production ramp-up at Protora's new manufacturing facility, including implementation of work instructions and standardized assembly processes.

- Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and basic precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of mechanical fastening, alignment, fit, and assembly techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow established procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
