IT PROGRAMMER

Sun Tran is seeking a skilled and solutions-driven IT Programmer to support the design, development and maintenance of our organizations information systems and databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing SQL queries and Crystal Reports, maintaining database performance, managing system upgrades and ensuring data accuracy and security across multiple platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience. 5 years of experience in software development is required. Strong knowledge of SQL and report writing (Crystal/Power BI) is essential. Candidates must also have practical experience in database administration or systems management to support routine maintenance, performance audits and system upgrades. Experience with intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and transit operations software preferred.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborates with departments, operational staff, and external partners to analyze business workflows, document requirements and design solutions that align with operational goals.
- Serves as a full-stack programmer to design, code, enhance and deploy responsive front-end user interfaces, scripts, server-side business logic and back-end database systems.
- Designs and constructs back-end architectures by writing complex SQL queries, generating reports (e.g., Crystal/Power BI) and integrating specialized enterprise technologies like mobile data and vehicle tracking systems.
- Assists with database administration, routine maintenance scripts, performance audits, and system upgrades to guarantee data accuracy, security, and regular back ups.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues across all layers of the software stack.
- Manages project lifecycles, creates project plans and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure accountability and project success.
- Develops and executes comprehensive test plans and test data to validate program integrity before release.
