Mechanical Technician Location: Huntersville, NC Compensation: $25-$35.hr depending on experience The Role Our client, a fast-growing R&D and manufacturing company in Huntersville, NC, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician. This versatile role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and assembling propane-powered engines, fuel systems, and industrial floor-care and battery-powered machinery. What You Will Do
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test propane combustion engines, fuel systems, 12V/24V DC electrical systems, and industrial floor-care/construction equipment.
- Conduct engine testing on dynamometers and calibrate fuel system configurations.
- Rework products according to engineering specifications and perform root-cause failure analysis on returned equipment.
- Support assembly and production by building components, performing quality control inspections, and managing warehouse tasks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to review new product samples, analyze technical drawings, and suggest design and process improvements.
- Maintain clear documentation, complete quality control checks, and assist with customer-facing technical support as needed.
What You Will Bring
- 4+ years of hands-on mechanical repair and maintenance experience, preferably involving internal combustion engines or automotive systems.
- Strong diagnostic experience with 12V and 24V DC electrical systems and components.
- Hands-on experience in quality control, product assembly, and custom fabrication.
- Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and engineering instructions.
- Proficiency with a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Clean, valid driver's license required; supervisory experience and basic computer skills are a plus.
