Manual/CNC Machinist Job Description:
PrideStaff is working with a manufacturing facility in search of an experienced 1st Shift Manual/CNC Machinist to support tool room and production operations. This hands-on position is responsible for machining, developing, modifying, and maintaining precision tooling, fixtures, and components to support the efficient production of quality parts. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in manual and CNC machining, mechanical troubleshooting, and precision measurement, and will collaborate with Engineering and Operations on equipment upgrades, CNC technology, and process improvements. The Manual/CNC Machinist is a full-time, direct hire position.
Manual/CNC Machinist Job Responsibilities:
- Set Up & Operate Manual & CNC Machining Equipment Including Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinders, & Tool Room Machinery
- Manufacture, Modify, Repair, & Maintain Precision Tooling, Dies, Fixtures, Gauges, & Production Machine Components
- Read & Interpret Blueprints, CAD Models, Engineering Drawings, & Specifications to Determine Machining Requirements
- Perform Precision Machining Operations Including Milling, Turning, Drilling, Tapping, Grinding, & Finishing
- Utilize CNC Programming & CAD/CAM Software to Support Machining Operations & Process Improvements
- Inspect & Verify Machined Components Using Calipers, Micrometers, Gauges, & Precision Measuring Equipment
- Troubleshoot Tooling & Machining Issues, Identify Root Causes, & Implement Solutions to Minimize Downtime
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, & Production Teams to Develop Tooling Solutions & Boost Efficiency
- Evaluate Existing Machining Processes & Provide Input on CNC Upgrades, Automation, & Equipment Purchases
- Support Machine Setups, Perform Routine Equipment Maintenance, & Maintain Standardized Machining Workflows
- Maintain Tooling, Equipment, & Workspaces in Accordance with Safety, Quality, & 5S Standards
- Perform Other Machining & Tool Room Duties as Assigned
Manual/CNC Machinist Job Requirements & Working Conditions:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required; Technical Degree or Machining/Tool & Die Certification Preferred
- 3+ Years of Manual Machining, CNC Machining, or Tool Room Experience in a Manufacturing Environment Required
- Proven Experience Setting Up & Operating Manual Mills, Lathes, & Surface Grinders
- Working Knowledge of CNC Machining Equipment, Controls, & Programming (Haas, FANUC, Mori Seiki, or TRAK Preferred)
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM Software (SolidWorks, CAMWorks) & GD&T Standards Preferred
- Ability to Read & Interpret Complex Blueprints, CAD Models, & Technical Drawings
- Proficiency Using Precision Measurement Tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges; CMM/PC-DMIS a Plus)
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude, Problem-Solving Capabilities, & High Attention to Detail
- Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced, Loud Manufacturing Environment
- Physical Ability to Stand, Walk, Reach, Stoop, Kneel, & Safely Lift/Move up to 50 lbs
