Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation operations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Coordinate and schedule transportation for shipments, ensuring optimal routing and efficiency.
- Monitor the progress of shipments and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Utilize transportation management systems to track freight movements and manage logistics operations.
- Handle shipping and receiving documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with drivers to provide clear instructions and support during transit.
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the transportation process.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities and communications.
- Uphold excellent phone etiquette when interacting with clients, drivers, and vendors.
Skills
- Proficiency in AS400, PortPro, Oracle Transportation Management, or similar transportation management systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of transportation planning, logistics, and freight operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
- Problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during dispatch operations.
- Minimum 2 years of dispatching experience in the logistics industry
- Advanced customer service skills

Pay Scale: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour depending on experience
