We're hiring an Integrations Engineer to help build and scale the app that many sports fans use every day. You’ll own a wide spectrum of our 50+ integrations. These integrations power anything from how Pikkit allows users to see their bets, sport information, or our one-click autofill feature. About Pikkit At Pikkit, we're building the home for sports betting. Today, we're a social sports betting app with over 1 million users, 20,000+ five-star reviews, and more than $30B in legal U.S. sports wagers tracked through our app. We're featured in industry reports from Citizens Bank, Houlihan Lokey, SBC, and more, and backed by top-tier VCs including Founder Collective, Baukunst, and Matrix. We're a team of ~15, all in-person at our Flatiron NYC office. We move fast, ship high-quality product, care deeply about sports fans, and don't take ourselves too seriously. 😊 About the Role This role supports systems that power critical features of the Pikkit product. This is a very hands-on role. You’ll be writing code, testing, and iterating constantly. You should have an extremely good understanding of the foundation of software engineering, how the modern internet works, and how to integrate systems together. Keeping integrations fast and reliable across dozens of platforms is a challenging domain. You don’t need experience with a specific stack. You do need very strong fundamentals in how the modern internet works. Networking, HTTP, TLS, and real curiosity about how clients and servers work. You’re not expected to know everything, but you should be able to go deep quickly and use AI and other tools to fill in the gaps. A lot of this role involves constant learning. You will be designing complex systems that can scale. You will understand what tools and capabilities are at your disposal when designing creative solutions to complex problems. You will be able to suggest improvements, test your ideas, and ultimately see the impact of your work on our product. What You'll Do
As an Integrations Engineer, you will:
- Own the reliability and performance of our 50+ integrations end to end
- Expand integrations to support new platforms
- Fix complex bugs where the only evidence is a few packet captures
- Build monitoring that catches issues before users notice
- Modernize our systems to work well with AI agents
- Help keep our own APIs and mobile app secure
- Build things that perform at scale, with a high bar for engineering quality
- Set the standard for quality and craft on a small, fast-moving team
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering, security research, or something in between, including meaningful work close to the network layer
- Deep understanding of HTTP, TLS, and how modern web and mobile clients behave on the wire
- Comfortable inspecting and debugging network traffic with standard tooling (Wireshark, Charles, Burp, etc.). Bonus points if you’ve built your own.
- Comfortable owning a domain end to end and thriving in ambiguity; startup experience or a significant personal project is a major plus
- You love tinkering with and exploring how things work, and it comes naturally to you
- You can come up with creative and unorthodox solutions to complex problems
- AI-forward: you actively use AI coding tools in your day-to-day work and want to keep pushing on how AI can make you faster and better
- Interest in sports or sports betting is a plus
Benefits
- Competitive salary and equity
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Unlimited vacation
- Generous budget for laptop and equipment
- Fun in-person team events
