Help build the supplier capabilities behind custom cranes and handling equipment for the commercial nuclear power industry! We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to own our supplier evaluation and qualification process and help suppliers meet demanding quality and project requirements. This person will manage the approved supplier list, lead supplier audits, oversee supplier nonconformances and corrective actions, and work directly with suppliers to strengthen their quality programs to meet unique project needs.
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving supplier performance to meet company, customer, and regulatory standards. The primary focus of this role will be developing our Nuclear supply chain, where NQA-1 knowledge and auditing experience are essential. This role also supports supplier quality across our Aerospace and Life Science Markets.
Responsibilities

- Own and maintain the supplier evaluation, qualification, approval, and re-evaluation process, including performing regular on-site audits.
- Manage the approved supplier list, ensuring approval status, scope, limitations, and supporting records remain accurate and current.
- Partner with key suppliers to identify gaps and develop their quality programs and processes to meet regulatory requirements and unique project requirements.
- Issue and manage supplier nonconformances and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), coordinating resolution, evaluating root cause analyses, and verifying corrective action implementation and effectiveness.
Success Criteria
Your ability to assess suppliers, evaluate supplier non-conformances, lead corrective actions, and minimize supply chain disruptions sets you apart. You thrive on opportunities where perfect information isn’t available, dive in, solve problems, and deliver wins for the team. You bring strong expertise in supplier quality and a drive for excellence in both supplier and internal processes, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
You build and maintain a capable, appropriately qualified supplier base and an accurate approved supplier list. You work directly with suppliers to ensure they understand and consistently meet our project and quality requirements, nonconformances are resolved promptly, and corrective actions prevent recurrence.
Lastly, you foster collaboration in all you do with suppliers and internal teams. You exercise sound judgment when information is incomplete, communicate supplier risks early, and collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
