Overview
Otter Products is hiring for a Sr. BI Data Engineer to join our team in Fort Collins, CO. This position can work a hybrid schedule.
The Sr. BI Data Engineer will be the foremost expert in Microsoft PowerBI and Fabric solutions to power enterprise data initiatives, following industry-standard practices and tools. This role carries dual priorities: designing and managing high-quality semantic models and delivering compelling, trusted data visualizations that drive decision-making across the enterprise.
The Sr. Data Engineer must guarantee compliance with data governance and data security requirements while creating, improving, and operationalizing integrated and semantic models and the visualization layers built on top of them. This includes ensuring that reports and dashboards meet enterprise standards for accuracy, performance, and accessibility - enabling faster data access, consistent metric definitions, and vastly improved time-to-solution for data and analytics initiatives.
Additionally, the Sr. Data Engineer will collaborate with data architects, data analysts, and other consumers to optimize models and algorithms for data quality, security, and governance, and put them into production. This collaboration extends to co-developing visualization solutions - including semantic models, self-service reporting frameworks, and executive-facing dashboards - that surface the outputs of those models in ways that drive meaningful business outcomes and potentially large productivity gains across the enterprise.
