Are you looking for a role in a company that's solving one of the greatest challenges of our lifetime? Ophelia helps people end their opioid use and restore their quality of life with respect for their time and dignity. Our mission is to make evidence-based treatments for opioid use disorder (OUD) accessible to everyone... and we're looking to bring more people onto our team to help us achieve it.
Ophelia is a venture-backed, healthcare startup that helps individuals with OUD by providing FDA-approved medication and clinical care through a telehealth platform. Our approach is discreet, convenient, and affordable. We've been successfully operating in 16 states for almost six years and we're excited to continue our growth. We are a team of physicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, researchers and White House advisors, backed by leading technology and healthcare investors working to re-imagine and re-build OUD treatment in America.
About the Role
Ophelia is hiring a Manager, Expansion Implementations to run the day-to-day execution of the partnership arrangements that drive our growth. Some of this work follows a familiar path. Some of it is new to us. In both cases, you'll be the person who keeps the work organized, the right people in the room, and everyone clear on what happens next and by when.
You’ll have support and direction from leadership, who negotiate and close our partnership agreements. Once a contract is signed, your job is to take it to go-live: turning the agreed terms into a clear plan and a well-run, well-communicated launch.
We're looking for an organized, enthusiastic project manager who enjoys bringing structure to cross-functional work and seeing it through from concept to steady-state operations. Experience in client-facing project management and relationship management is essential. A “run through walls” mindset would position you well for success!
You'll report to the Senior Director, Payor Strategy & Contracting and work on a cross-functional team growing Ophelia's business across payors, new government programs, and strategic partnerships.
What You'll Do
- Lead payor and partner implementations from kickoff through go-live, working with internal and external stakeholders along the way. Stakeholders may include subject matter exports or executives.
- Start new initiatives by working out what is needed based on the contract and client type: who should be involved, what questions need answers, and what a reasonable implementation plan looks like, etc. Bring a draft plan and key questions to functional area leads so they can react to it, revise timelines, and resolve unknowns together with you
- Keep project plans, trackers and minute logs accurate and current, including dependencies and status
- Take ownership of implementation open questions and action items. Collaborate with colleagues or external parties, as appropriate, to resolve each one in a timely manner; revise project plan and timeline as applicable.
- Work comfortably with the leadership team, including presenting updates, raising risks, and bringing decisions that need their input
- Set clear process metrics and SMART goals to manage the team against. Similarly, coordinate with external partners on timelines, targets and operations.
- Quarterback resolution of revenue cycle issues, such as claims processing and credentialing, with external and internal operations teams during implementation.
What We're Looking For
- 4-6 years of experience in project management or implementation roles, with growing responsibility over time
- Deep knowledge of managed care contracts and / or provider relationships, ideally related to Medicaid
- Understanding of provider credentialing, revenue cycle management, and / or claims submission
- Energized by spearheading new and ambitious implementations without existing playbooks; able to help functional area leads reach informed implementation decisions
- A track record of running projects on time, on budget, and within scope
- The habit of spotting blockers early and raising them before they slow the project down
- The ability to influence internal and external parties without direct authority, but rather through trust, candid communication, and consistent follow-through
- Clear written and verbal communication, adjusted to who is reading or listening
- Quick learner and ability to implement a variety of client relationships
- Experience helping launch a new type of program or partnership
Our Benefits Include:
- Competitive medical, vision, and health insurance (many plans are fully covered for the employee!)
- Start with 20 days (4 weeks) of PTO, increasing to 5 weeks after 2 years and 6 weeks after 5 years of tenure
- 10 company holidays
- Work From Home Stipend
- 401k Contribution Platform
- Additional benefits offered through our benefits provider such as life insurance, short and long term disability, financial wellness, virtual primary care, among others!
Ophelia Compensation Overview
- We set compensation based on the level and skills required for the role. We value pay transparency and equity, and are committed to fair pay. In order to prevent pay disparities and reduce time spent in negotiations, we take a “first and best” offer approach: this means we’re not holding any compensation back from our candidates, and you can feel confident that our pay is fair and does not vary based on the strength of someone’s negotiation skills.
- Compensation is dynamic at Ophelia: as long as the company performs well and meets our targets, there will be opportunities for increased compensation annually. We’re happy to discuss this approach and our bands if you have questions during the interview process.
Compensation Range
$120,000 - $130,000 USD
