About Nominal Engineers today are building some of the most ambitious machines humanity has ever seen. They should have AI that’s purpose-built for them. Nominal is building the Hardware Intelligence Platform that gives engineers increased visibility into complex physical systems, helps them make better decisions, and ultimately gets their products into the real world faster. It brings together the systems, data, intelligence, and applications hardware engineering requires to meet the AI moment. Hardware engineering teams use Nominal to simulate, test, manufacture, and operate the physical systems that keep the world moving, from spacecraft and autonomous vehicles to next-generation energy systems and robotics. Our customers span aerospace, defense, manufacturing, transportation, energy, and robotics. They include Anduril, Shield AI, Wisk Aero, Pratt Miller Motorsports, Antares, and Shinkei Systems, amongst others, alongside programs within the U.S. Air Force and Navy. Our team draws from SpaceX, Palantir, Anduril, Applied Intuition, Tesla, and other leading companies, united by a common mission: giving hardware engineers the tools to build the future with speed, safety, and confidence. We're a fast-moving team that owns problems end-to-end, works across disciplines, and thrives at the intersection of hardware and software. Some of the world’s leading technology investors, including Sequoia, Lightspeed, Founders Fund, General Catalyst, Lux Capital, and Insight Partners, are backing Nominal’s ambition to change how machines are built and operated. We’re looking for engineers who want to take on hard problems and help make a new generation of world-changing hardware possible. 🧭 About the role Nominal's Product organization needs a clear, measurable cadence for planning, outcome reviews, customer insights, launches, and cross-functional decisions. Product Operations builds, runs, and improves that operating system across Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) and the teams it works with, including Mission and GTM. The work makes every PM more effective by making customer evidence, priorities, outcomes, and decisions easier to act on. This role is ideal for an operator who has built and run operating rhythms across several teams with little oversight, and who decides which process problems to fix first. It is a hands-on individual contributor role and does not manage people initially. Over time, the scope can grow to include running analytics for the Product organization and shaping how EPD operates as a whole. 🚀 What you'll do Define and run how Product plans, prioritizes, and reviews work across EPD, with portfolio visibility that leaders can act on. Lead operating rhythms with Mission, GTM, and other teams outside EPD so handoffs and decisions run consistently. Run the release process from initiation through launch, including sales training and enablement with GTM, so teams are ready when a release ships. Put the PM Handbook, Outcome Briefs, journey dashboards, and decision records into practice without adding unnecessary process, and measure how well each is adopted. Define product metrics, instrumentation requirements, and executive reporting in partnership with Analytics and Engineering. Make customer research, feedback, and past decisions easy for every team to find and reuse. Automate friction-heavy workflows with AI, partnering with Knowledge Systems and internal tooling teams. 🔍 We're looking for someone with Experience building or running a product operations or engineering operations function at a technology company with several product and engineering teams to coordinate. A track record of designing operating rhythms, such as planning, reviews, or launches, that more than one team adopted. Prior ownership of a launch or release from initiation through sales or customer enablement, across Product, Engineering, and go-to-market teams. Depth in product analytics, shown by metric definitions or executive reports you built with Analytics or Engineering. Hands-on fluency in workflow automation or AI-assisted tooling, with an operational workflow you automated yourself rather than handed to an engineering team. ⚡ Skills that supercharge us A background in infrastructure, developer platform, or enterprise software products. A track record of moving a product team from output measures, such as features shipped, to outcome-based metrics. Hands-on use of a BI tool, such as Looker, Mode, or Tableau, to build dashboards that executives or product leaders relied on. Experience leading or building an analytics function, including metric definitions. ✨ Benefits/Perks 🏥 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance 🏖️ Unlimited PTO and sick leave 🍽️ Free lunch, snacks, and coffee 🚀 Professional Development Stipend ✈️ Annual company retreat All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
