Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt to various teaching environments.
Essential Functions:
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher, ensuring that learning objectives are met.
- Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Manage student behavior effectively, addressing any issues in accordance with school policy.
- Recess duty as needed.
Applications will be reviewed by an Administrator. If you receive notification from the district office that you are selected to be a Substitute Teacher, you will receive instructions via email to complete the Expanded Criminal History Check with DCS Search.
Benefits
Substitute teachers are paid $95.00 per full day and $47.50 per half day to sub for a teacher.
The pay rate to sub for an instructional assistant is $12.66 per hour.
Substitute teachers work on an as-needed basis based on BHMSD employee absences. BHMSD cannot guarantee a specific number of hours a substitute teacher will work in any given pay period.
