At Mothership Coffee, we're looking for an Assistant Café Manager who brings consistency, follow-through, and care to every shift. You'll lead the café on the Café Manager's days off and work side by side with them to keep the team, the systems, and the numbers on track.

The Role
As Assistant Café Manager, you are the Café Manager's partner and second in command. Together, you share accountability for café operations, financial performance, and team development. On the Café Manager's days off, you are the manager on duty and you run daily operations.
This is a full-time, salaried role with weekends as part of the regular schedule. Through our Launchpad Program, you'll have the tools and support to keep growing your skills and your career at Mothership.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40+ hours per week.
- Weekends are part of the regular schedule.
- Shifts vary week to week and include mornings, evenings, and holidays.
- We're looking for someone who can commit fully to this schedule, week in and week out.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as manager on duty on the Café Manager's scheduled days off, running daily operations and making the calls the shift needs.
- Partner with the Café Manager on financial performance: gross profit, labor %, and waste control.
- Build and adjust schedules, manage inventory, and place orders so the café is ready for every shift.
- Coach and develop Shift Leads and Baristas through clear, consistent feedback.
- Conduct first-round interviews and provide hiring recommendations.
- Support performance reviews and disciplinary actions with fairness, consistency, and clear documentation.
- Spot operational issues early and work with the Café Manager to put solutions in place.
- Follow through on the systems, standards, and routines that keep the café consistent.
- Uphold health and safety standards in full compliance with regulations.
- Lead from the floor alongside your team, setting the standard for service and speed.

Qualifications
- Experience as a Shift Lead or Assistant Café Manager in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
- Working knowledge of financial metrics (labor %, waste, COGS).
- Ability to run the café as manager on duty, including opening, closing, and handling issues as they come up.
- Availability for weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays on a schedule that varies week to week.
- Southern Nevada Health District Food Handler Card, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [CONFIRM] lbs.
Compensation & Benefits
- $43,000 to $49,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
- Performance bonus equal to 60% of the Café Manager's bonus payout, based on café performance.
