Summary:
The Adventure Middle School is seeking a full-time Social Studies teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching 7th-grade students and a strong knowledge of social studies concepts and curriculum. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans, grading assignments and tests, and engaging students in the learning process.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's social studies curriculum.
- Create and grade assignments, quizzes, and tests to assess student understanding of social studies concepts.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents on student progress and academic performance.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities.
- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as required.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest teaching techniques and social studies curriculum.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification in Social Studies or a related subject.
- Strong knowledge of social studies concepts and curriculum for 7th-grade students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Experience using technology in the classroom to enhance student learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.
