JOB REQUIREMENTS: Support microinsurance product development-related activities o Prepare drafts of product prototypes and protocols o Support prototype testing and willingness to pay exercises o Review term sheets o Develop microinsurance implementation processes and protocols o Set up pilot testing plans and support implementation o Support development of partnerships with key stakeholders (insurance companies, distribution partners, government) Research and consulting activity support for client projects related to microinsurance in developing economies o Conduct desk research, including online surveys or phone interviews o Develop research plans, questionnaires, and other qualitative and quantitative research tools o Maintain expertise in the economic conditions of Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, and Kenya o Support training and monitoring of field research partners o Perform data cleaning, analysis, and visualization for projects o Prepare drafts of reports or deliverables, edit, or proof-read o Perform other inputs to projects accordingly to ability and interest Project setup o Develop project timelines and work plans in Excel or project management software o Prepare Statements of Work (SoWs) and contracts for sub-contracted consultants Project planning and implementation o Liaise with clients o Coordinate, schedule, and plan project activities in collaboration with staff and consultants o Track and manage project budgets o Draft, in collaboration with appropriate consultant, in-country mission agendas o Track and monitor project activities and deliverables to ensure completion within the project timeline o Prepare components of or full (depending on project) project reports for clients, and internal project management updates to senior staff o Facilitate communications and coordinate meetings between consultants, clients, and other project stakeholders o Facilitate structured team feedback sessions in order to improve current or future practices o Track and coordinate aspects of client projects in compliance with Milliman\'s Quality Risk Management system, as appropriate (i.e., coordinate peer reviewers, check email communications, drafts, and deliverables) Project closing o Draft and compile project retrospective reports gathering feedback from clients and stakeholders o Finalize and close out all project activities and deliverables Business development o Contribute ideas to the MicroInsurance Centre at Milliman\'s business development and marketing strategy and plans o Support and/or coordinate the development of new project proposals Internal tasks o Prepare internal reports on client projects for various Milliman oversight committees o Provide technical inputs to the firm\'s external communications activities (i.e., blog posts, articles) o Assist in developing and implementing effective technical tools or templates for staff, consultants, and projects o Participate in continuous learning activities related to the field of microinsurance o Participation in the MicroInsurance Centre at Milliman\'s thought leadership and knowledge management team sessions Telecommuting permitted less than 50% of the time from the Appleton, WI area Position requires international travel up to 10% of the time ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of professional experience working in development economics Three years of experience developing and implementing microinsurance solutions Experience with microinsurance product development-related solutions for economic, cultural, and financial systems of the African region Professional experience in at least one of the following countries: Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, or Kenya Willingness to travel internationally up to 10% of the time ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: E-Mail a Rsum: apply@milliman.com
