Mechanic / Auto Technician

Pay: Up to $30/hour - Based on Experience

Summary:
The Mechanic / Auto Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues using diagnostic equipment and test drives.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, and fluid checks.
- Repair or replace brakes, suspensions, engines, transmissions, and other major components.
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly and document findings and needed repairs.
- Communicate repair recommendations clearly to supervisors or customers.
- Follow established safety procedures when using equipment and handling automotive chemicals.
- Maintain an organized work area and ensure tools/equipment are in good working order.
- Stay updated on automotive technology, repair procedures, and diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with other technicians and staff to meet workflow and customer deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as an auto mechanic or technician preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use automotive diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Knowledge of brakes, suspension systems, electrical systems, and engine operation.
- Valid drivers license and good driving record.
- Ability to lift vehicle parts, stand for long periods, and work in varying shop conditions.
- Certifications (ASE or similar) are a plus but not required.
