Join McClatchy Media as a Video Editor and help shape the future of digital storytelling in a fast-paced, AI-enabled newsroom. We’re looking for a creative, can-do professional who thrives on collaboration and experimentation - someone who’s as comfortable editing for TikTok and YouTube as they are crafting long-form features. You’ll leverage the latest AI and automation tools to streamline your workflow, freeing you to focus on what matters most: creating compelling, high-impact video content that informs, entertains, and inspires diverse audiences.
In this role, you’ll edit original, editorial, social, branded, and companion video content from raw footage through final delivery. You’ll build platform-specific versions and cutdowns, incorporate graphics and motion templates, and ensure every project meets the highest editorial and technical standards. Your work will be guided by audience insights, data signals, and a relentless drive for quality and innovation.
What sets you apart:
- Advanced expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro and a strong grasp of short-form, social, and vertical video editing
- Experience using AI-powered tools and automation to enhance efficiency and elevate creative output
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to working with producers and editorial teams
- Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous learning and experimentation
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing priorities
At McClatchy, we believe every audience matters and every signal counts. If you’re ready to push boundaries, embrace new technologies, and help us deliver trusted, audience-first content at scale, we want to hear from you.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is between 75k - 85k annually. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography, and local wage and hours laws.
