Job Overview: Responsible for ensuring the safety of the children that you are driving to and from school and events. Job Functions: - Is familiar with and abides by all local, state, or federal traffic laws, rules, and regulations. - Transports students over specified routes according to time schedule. - Maintains discipline when students are on bus and reports any student misconduct to principal of the school the student attends. - Performs daily mechanical checks on oil, gas, tires, lights, and doors. - Reports to the bus garage for needed repairs. - Cleans his/her bus each day as needed to keep it in a clean and neat condition. - Reports all accidents promptly and completes required reports. - Transports only authorized students. - Assumes responsibility for knowing and following the safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of the job. - Checks at the end of every run to ensure that all students have left the bus. - Shall not use profanity or tobacco in any form when students are being transported; nor be under the influence of any intoxicating drink or drug. - Maintains confidentiality - Performs other duties as assigned.
