Company:
Marsh
Description:
We are seeking a Strategy & Execution Planning Lead to join our Global Analytics and Advisory team in New York. This role will establish and manage the planning and execution cadence for the business, providing a consistent framework that enables region-led delivery of priorities established by GAA leadership and regional leaders.
Working closely with the GAA CEO, senior leadership, regional leaders, and their teams, this role will provide structure, visibility, coordination, and decision support to help the organization execute its operational and strategic objectives. The role will influence through analysis, facilitation, reporting, constructive challenge, and follow-through. Decision rights and accountability for business priorities and initiative delivery will remain with the relevant leaders and initiative owners.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong consulting mindset, deep business acumen, and experience coordinating complex planning and execution processes in a highly matrixed, global environment. This individual will help establish clear governance, reporting, and operating rhythms that enable leaders and teams to deliver against shared priorities.
This is a hybrid role with the requirement of being in the NYC office 3 days a week.
What to expect:
- Partner with the GAA CEO and senior leadership to establish and manage the planning process and execution cadence for the team’s strategic and operational priorities.
- Build and maintain a consistent planning framework across regions to support alignment, visibility, accountability, and region-led execution.
- Partner with GAA leaders and their teams to translate shared priorities into actionable plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and accountabilities.
- Establish and manage execution routines, including milestone tracking, action registers, dependency management, risk and issue logs, and regular operating reviews.
- Support the GAA CEO and regional leaders in maintaining accountability through regular reporting, progress reviews, action tracking, and follow-through.
- Provide analysis, recommendations, and decision support to help leadership assess progress, risks, trade-offs, and opportunities.
- Constructively challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and recommend actions while maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Monitor progress against plans, surface risks, issues, and cross-regional dependencies early, facilitate resolution with the appropriate owners, and escalate matters requiring leadership intervention.
- Develop clear management reporting, dashboards, and executive-ready updates that communicate progress, risks, dependencies, decisions, actions, and outcomes.
- Coordinate planning inputs across GAA leaders, Technology, Operations, and other business partners to support integrated execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning, governance, reporting, and execution processes, and coordinate recommendations with the relevant process owners.
- Support planning and decision-making across areas such as operating model design, resource optimization, location strategy, automation, digitization, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, internal clients, initiative owners, and relevant external partners.
- Facilitate effective governance forums and operating reviews, ensuring that decisions, actions, owners, and deadlines are clearly documented and followed through.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies that can improve delivery, planning effectiveness, and innovation.
- Maintain a clear distinction between coordination and delivery ownership: initiative owners remain accountable for execution, while this role provides structure, visibility, coordination, and follow-through.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Seven or more years of experience in strategy, transformation, management consulting, project management, planning, business operations, or a similar role.
- Experience coordinating complex, cross-functional initiatives in a global, matrixed environment.
- Experience establishing management routines, performance reporting, governance forums, and accountability mechanisms for senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of operations, process improvement, modernization, execution management, and business planning.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior leaders and influence without direct authority.
- Ability to partner effectively with business leaders and their teams to drive follow-through and execution.
- Comfort constructively challenging assumptions, identifying gaps, and offering candid, evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong ability to synthesize complex information into clear messages, practical recommendations, and executive-ready materials.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work through ambiguity, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with planning, reporting, dashboarding, and presentation tools.
Role Scope and Decision Rights:
- The role leads and coordinates the planning process and execution cadence but does not independently set business priorities or make decisions on behalf of GAA leadership.
- The role provides analysis, recommendations, facilitation, reporting, and constructive challenge to support leadership decision-making.
- Decision rights remain with the GAA CEO, relevant senior leaders, regional leaders, and initiative owners.
- Regional and initiative leaders remain accountable for delivery, while this role supports visibility, coordination, issue resolution, and follow-through.
Measures of Success:
- Consistent adoption and effective use of the planning framework across regions.
- Improved visibility into progress against strategic and operational priorities.
- Timely and accurate reporting of milestones, risks, dependencies, actions, and outcomes.
- Effective escalation and resolution of cross-regional issues and dependencies.
- Strong engagement, follow-through, and accountability among planning and initiative owners.
- Improved quality and consistency of leadership decision support and operating reviews.

- We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
