A day in the life
As an IT Operations Analyst on the IT Strategy & Operations team, you will serve as a central hub for enabling strong operational and financial management across the IT organization. You will own core IT financial planning activities (forecasting, budgeting, and spend management), with a particular focus on outside services and third-party spend. This role will also manage day-to-day vendor relationships and contract administration activities, ensuring work is delivered as expected and vendors and contractors are onboarded and offboarded smoothly. The ideal candidate can operate independently, bring structure to ambiguity, and partner effectively with IT leaders, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Accounts Payable, and vendors.
Our future colleague.
We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
IT financial planning, forecasting & budget management (outside services focus)
- Own the forecasting and budget process for the IT organization, with emphasis on outside services / third-party spend.
- Maintain run-rate views and forecast models; identify key drivers, risks, and opportunities and provide clear variance commentary versus prior forecasts and budgets.
- Partner with IT leaders and cost owners to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and drive timely submissions for monthly/quarterly cycles.
- Support month-end activities as needed (e.g., accrual tracking, invoice timing, and forecast updates) in coordination with Finance and Accounts Payable.
- Maintain financial trackers and data integrity across sources (e.g., invoices, POs, contracts, budget trackers); reconcile discrepancies and document assumptions.
- Prepare executive-ready summaries, dashboards, and talking points that translate financial details into decisions and actions for IT leadership.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline budgeting/forecasting and improve transparency of third-party spend.
Vendor management, contracting support & performance monitoring
- Manage day-to-day vendor relationship and contract administration activities for IT outside services providers.
- Support new sourcing events (RFIs/RFPs/RFQs) by coordinating requirements, gathering documentation, organizing responses, and supporting evaluation and selection.
- Monitor active vendor engagements to evaluate delivery quality and facilitate renewals
- Support basic spend analysis and vendor reporting to improve cost visibility and identify optimization opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3–5+ years of experience in technology finance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), IT financial operations, vendor management, procurement/contract administration, or a comparable cross-functional role.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining budgets/forecasts, performing variance analysis, and translating results into clear written commentary and leadership-ready insights.
- Experience managing third-party / outside services spend in an IT organization (professional services, managed services, SaaS/software, cloud, or related technology categories).
- Hands-on Excel skills (e.g., pivots, lookups, data validation, reconciliation) and comfort working with imperfect data from multiple sources.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to independently prioritize work and meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate across IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and vendor partners.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential financial, vendor, and personnel information.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with forecasting and budgeting tools such as Oracle, IBM Apptio, etc.
- Experience supporting RFx processes, contract renewals, and vendor performance reporting.
- Experience building simple dashboards or reporting (e.g., Power BI/Tableau) to improve visibility of spend and vendor performance.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or professional services environments.
We know there are excellent candidates who might not check all of these boxes. Don’t be shy. If you’re close, we’d be very interested in meeting you.
