Our client, a precision manufacturer, is seeking an External Thread Grinder to join their operation. As an External Thread Grinder, you will be part of the Manufacturing team, supporting production of precision components. Job Title: External Thread Grinder Location: Traverse City, MI Pay Range: $22.00 – $28.00/hr. based on experience, + $2.00/hr. shift premium for 2nd shift.
Shift:
1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday 2nd Shift: 2:30pm – 11:30pm Monday-Friday. NOTE: Initial training is conducted on 1st shift for both shifts. What's the Job?
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC external thread grinding equipment to manufacture precision components.
- Read blueprints and engineering drawings to confirm requirements and ensure accurate production.
- Make tool, offset, and program adjustments to maintain correct machining performance.
- Inspect components using precision measuring equipment and verify quality to specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining and quality issues, partnering with Production, Quality, and Engineering to improve processes. What's Needed?
- CNC machining experience and comfort working with CNC equipment.
- Blueprint reading skills to interpret engineering drawings and job requirements.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers to inspect and verify parts.
- Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and pride in producing quality work.
- A problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn specialized thread grinding processes. What's in it for me?
