At LINAK, we develop innovative electric actuator solutions that create movement in applications across the world. Our TECHLINE® business unit provides advanced electric actuator and control solutions for demanding industrial and mobile equipment applications.
We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to accelerate growth within the Off-Highway and Agricultural Equipment markets. This role will focus on identifying new OEM opportunities, developing relationships with key decision-makers, and helping customers transition from traditional hydraulic or competitive actuation technologies to LINAK electric actuator solutions.
What You'll Do
- Identify, qualify, and develop new OEM business opportunities within agriculture, construction, lawn and turf, material handling, specialty vehicles, and other off-highway/mobile equipment markets.
- Build a strategic pipeline of high-value accounts and applications where LINAK electric actuation can replace or improve upon hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, or competing electromechanical solutions.
- Develop new and dormant target accounts, from initial prospecting and application discovery through proof-of-concept, design-in, negotiation, and production launch.
- Build relationships across customer organizations, including engineering, product management, procurement, operations, and executive leadership.
- Conduct voice-of-customer research to understand market needs, customer pain points, and opportunities where LINAK can create measurable value.
- Work with customers and LINAK technical resources to develop solutions tailored to demanding mobile equipment applications.
- Develop compelling technical and commercial value propositions around electrification, efficiency, controllability, reduced maintenance, system integration, and hydraulic replacement.
- Evaluate market potential and develop business cases for new applications, markets, and product requirements.
- Develop account plans, opportunity strategies, forecasts, pricing recommendations, and commercial proposals.
- Maintain an active opportunity pipeline and accurately track activities, opportunities, and forecasts in CRM.
- Monitor competitors, technology developments, OEM strategies, and industry trends affecting the Off-Highway and Agricultural markets.
- Represent LINAK at customer visits, industry conferences, and relevant trade shows.
- Partner closely with TECHLINE Sales, Application Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing to successfully commercialize new opportunities.
- Share business development strategies and market knowledge with the broader TECHLINE sales organization.
What You Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of business development, OEM sales, technical sales, or strategic account development experience, preferably involving mobile equipment, agriculture, construction equipment, hydraulics, motion control, automation, or related technologies.
- Established knowledge of the Off-Highway and/or Agricultural Equipment ecosystem, including OEMs, suppliers, technologies, and buying processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new accounts rather than exclusively manage an existing territory or customer base.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience working with engineering teams on new-product or new-platform development is highly desirable.
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into a compelling customer business case.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable interacting with everyone from design engineers to senior executives.
- Self-directed and comfortable working remotely while collaborating with a broader national and global team.
- Ability to travel approximately 40 to 50%.
You'll have the opportunity to help grow LINAK's presence in some of the most demanding and innovative mobile equipment markets. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building markets, opening doors, solving technical challenges, and turning new applications into long-term OEM partnerships.
