What You'll Do
- Develop accurate conceptual estimates, preliminary budgets, and quick-turn pricing for custom residential remodeling projects.
- Collaborate with Sales and Design teams to evaluate project scope, design options, client preferences, and budget expectations.
- Support project proposals, design specifications, and design-build agreements throughout the sales and design process.
- Recruit, develop, and maintain relationships with subcontractors, trade partners, and vendors to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliable project resources.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes, negotiate pricing, and stay informed on changing material and labor costs.
- Create and maintain estimating templates and historical cost data to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Analyze estimated versus actual project costs to identify trends, improve pricing accuracy, and recommend adjustments.
- Identify opportunities to streamline estimating workflows and implement process improvements across departments.
- Work closely with the Project Estimator, Production, and other team members to ensure accurate project information and successful transitions.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in residential construction estimating, preferably within custom remodeling, renovations, or design-build construction.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, labor costs, subcontractor pricing, and project budgeting.
- Ability to develop conceptual estimates from preliminary plans, design information, and evolving project scopes.
- Experience working with subcontractors and vendors, including obtaining quotes, evaluating pricing, and building relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review job costs, identify variances, and improve estimating accuracy.
- Proficiency with estimating software, project management systems, and spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
