Position: Substitute Custodian (As-Needed)
Location: Laurel School District, New Castle, PA
Pay Rate: $12.00/hour
Schedule: Flexible/as needed to cover staff absences (Day and Evening shifts available)
Position Summary
We are looking for reliable and detail-oriented Substitute Custodians to join our facilities team. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors by filling in during regular staff absences.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
- Set up and take down furniture or equipment for events and daily activities.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks or report major repair needs.
- Secure buildings, doors, and windows.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Prior to beginning, satisfactory completion of background checks and required clearances (e.g., state criminal history and child abuse clearances as mandated by local laws).
- Dependable work ethic and good communication skills.
