Objectives
The Knox County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for full-time Jail Division Deputies.
The current wage scale starts at $25.94 per hour depending on experience.

Essential Functions
- Speak, Write, and Read Reports and Comprehend Other Documents;
- Handle Human Relations Problems;
- Engage in Physical Activities;
- Use Physical Force to Control Persons;
- Conduct Search and Seizure;
- Protect Crime Scene and Collect Evidence and Information;
- Conduct Initial Investigations of Various Crimes and Events;
- Provide Emergency Assistance;
- Present Testimony.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

In addition to the essential functions outlined above, a certified jailer of the Knox County Sheriff's Office performs the following specific duties.
Upon assuming duties each shift, review post orders, directives, general orders
, and policies and procedures
for recent changes;
Monitor and control access and egress to the detention area, to include exclusion of all firearms, sharp objects, or explosive munitions;
Supervise arrestees during intake process;
