Requirements
Commodities Buyer Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze commodities markets and global economic conditions to make informed purchase decisions
- Participate in bidding and contract negotiations to obtain best pricing and quality of goods
- Manage supplier relationsships and service level agreements
- Identify, evaluate and monitor and manage suppliers to develop reliable sourcing
- Track receipts and evaluate supplier delivery performance
- Monitor and manage raw materials inventories and order accordingly
- Work with other departments to forecast required purchases
- Develop and maintain periodic reports as needed
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Effective interpersonal skills
- 3-5 years’ experience with above responsibilities
- Basic computer literacy and working knowledge of software programs commonly used in business including ERP and Office tools
- Ability and willingness to learn
- Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to employment
- Strong organizational skills
- Awareness of packaging and transportation regulations, incoterms and methods by commodity type
