Job Summary: The Faculty Research Awards Program Manager oversees the identification, tracking, and nomination of University of Alabama faculty for high-prestige national and international honorific awards, including NASEM, NSF CAREER, Guggenheim and NEH Fellowships, NEA grants, and major disciplinary society honors. Implements and oversees academic databases to identify competitive candidates and optimize award submission pipelines. Monitors and track eligibility rules, submission criteria, and evaluation standards across premier global award-granting bodies to ensure UA’s submission workflows adapt to changing external standards.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher in a data-centric field, higher education administration, or a research discipline (HASS or STEM). Three (3) years of experience in higher education research development, institutional research, or academic data analysis. Experience with data organization, visualization, and project management software, including advanced Excel, Tableau, Smartsheet, or Asana, to build tracking workflows and monitor long-term, multi-year award trajectories. Experience utilizing Academic Analytics profiles, benchmarking modules, and institutional comparison software to analyze department- and university-level research productivity.

Background Investigation Statement: Prior to hiring, the final candidate(s) must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and information obtained from social media and other internet sources. A prior conviction reported as a result of the background investigation DOES NOT automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position. A candidate with a prior conviction or negative behavioral red flags will receive an individualized review of the prior conviction or negative behavioral red flags before a hiring decision is made.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment or volunteer status without regard to any legally protected basis and will not be discriminated against because of their protected status. Applicants and employees of this institution are protected under Federal law from discrimination on several bases.
