Title: Data Mapping Analyst
Location: Owings Mills, MD
Duration: 9-Month W2 Contract

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Mapping Analyst / Privacy Data Steward to support enterprise data governance and privacy compliance initiatives. This role will focus on maintaining accurate data inventories, validating metadata, and coordinating with business and technical teams to support CCPA/CPRA requirements and improve data quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain application inventories, data catalogs, data dictionaries, and related documentation.
- Identify and document data ownership, system integrations, data fields, and personal information classifications.
- Review metadata and perform data quality checks to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather information, validate records, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Coordinate data owner reviews, recertifications, and compliance-related tracking activities.
- Support privacy rights requests by validating relevant data mapping information.
- Develop repeatable processes for metadata updates and data governance activities.
- Track deliverables, communicate project status, and follow up on outstanding items.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in data governance, data stewardship, data mapping, business systems analysis, or a related field.
- Knowledge of metadata management, data catalogs, databases, application inventories, and system integrations.
- Experience with data validation, data classification, requirements gathering, or process documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate across business and technical teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting data privacy, regulatory compliance, or governance initiatives.
- Familiarity with CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, or similar privacy regulations.
- Exposure to tools such as OneTrust, DataHub, Archer, OpenPages, Power BI, or comparable platforms.
- Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
- Relevant data governance or privacy certifications are a plus.
