Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Java Developer to join a small, AI-assisted delivery pod building checkout and payments features for a Fortune 50 retailer's in-store point-of-sale (POS) system. The first deliverable is a compliance-driven change to printed customer receipts: showing legally required financing disclosures when a customer buys a private-label credit plan. The work runs from requirements through testing and production release, aligned to the client's regular release schedule. The POS register application is a large, legacy Java codebase that was built on an older Java platform and relies heavily on XML configuration, properties files, and a proprietary workflow framework. You will make careful, well-tested changes to code you did not write, with limited documentation, and work with a subject matter expert who helps you learn the platform's specifics. Day to day, you will trace how a receipt is built and printed, make the changes needed to add the disclosure text, and move hard-coded text into configurable settings. You will work closely with the team's development and architecture leads, and with client stakeholders in IT, store operations, and legal.
