The Center for Student Engagement, Inclusion and Belonging (CSEIB) is the place for involvement, connection, and transitions to the IC community. Two of our major program areas provide developmental opportunities for students to engage in new experiences and communities.
- The First-Year Experience (FYE) and Transfer Student Experience (TSE): The Involvement Leaders play an integral role in both of the programs below by being a resource to new students, and helping to build connections between the new students and other members of the campus community.
- Welcome Week welcomes and integrates students as members of our community through programs that establish expectations, encourage responsibility, and create learning communities. The programs allow students to share common experiences, create lasting relationships, and build a strong sense of community on campus.
- The Ready, Set, Go! Registration days bring new incoming students to campus before the start of their first semester. These days are designed to provide students and their support systems to view campus, set their fall course schedule, and meet other incoming students to begin to build a connection with Illinois College.
- The CSEIB Programming Team is a student-run group that serves as Illinois College’s principal group for major student event planning and campus programming. The mission of the CSEIB Programming Team is to work with all student organizations and campus offices to streamline campus programming, and provide a diverse assortment of fun and safe events to entertain and engage students. The activities are supported and funded by the students of Illinois College and are designed to serve the entire student body and foster an inclusive campus community.
The position of student Involvement Leader (IL) is one that allows a student to make a real contribution to the College and its students. At the beginning of a student’s time at IC, Involvement Leaders help new students and their families or support systems make a positive transition to Illinois College. Throughout the entire school year, Involvement Leaders continue their impact by supporting campus-wide events for the entire student body and
maintaining connections with their involvement groups (orientation groups) throughout the school year.
The Center for Student Engagement, Inclusion and Belonging is seeking caring and inclusive students who are also hardworking, creative, and committed to impacting life on campus.
