Senior Event Planning Manager The Senior Event Planning Manager is a position for a career professional in Event Planning. This person is a top performer in the hotel who has demonstrated through performance a commitment and expertise in luxury Event Planning. This position is viewed as a mentor/role model for other colleagues and is assigned the most complex accounts with the most potential for business or possible challenges. The Senior Event Planning Manager's primary focus is servicing Sales bookings in a luxury resort environment, to include multi-day incentive programs, executive retreats, conferences, meetings, holiday parties and other group and event business as assigned. This position acts as the liaison between Meeting/Event Planners and the hotel staff. Responsibilities include: administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food, Beverage, Setup, Experience and A/V needs, managing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions and final review, facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of luxury service and ensuring customer expectations are consistently exceeded. The Senior Event Planning Manager is the on-site contact and is responsible for the smooth planning and execution of all conferences, incentive programs, meetings and other group and event business as assigned. The Senior Event Planning Manager also hosts resort tours and event tastings, maintains strong internal and external customer relationships, participates in and may lead event meetings and other staff meetings, and works as an engaged team member with the sales, event and hotel staff. The manager also works closely with an assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff. This role may take on leadership functions and assist Director of Events with projects. This is the Hyatt Touch. Wage Information The salary range for this position is $84,000 to $98,000. This is the pay range for this position that Park Hyatt Aviara reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education. Qualifications
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment. Refined verbal and written communication skills
- A minimum of 3-5 years of hotel luxury event planning or comparable experience
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
- Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, adaptable to change, organized and able to handle a high-volume of luxury event planning in a fast-paced environment
- Prefer event planning, selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
- Preferred candidate is a certified Together by Hyatt Specialist or has similar knowledge
