Summary
Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our Engineering Department. The primary responsibilities include processing service applications, scheduling staking appointments, maintaining records, and assisting cooperative members. The employee will also receive ongoing training in pole inspection, fieldwork, mapping, and staking assistance to provide support across multiple Engineering Department functions.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Process new service applications and requests for service improvements.
- Schedule appointments and track applications to ensure timely follow-up.
- Assist members with questions, trouble calls, and account information.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Assist with Cooperative communications and Missouri One Call information.
- Assist with pole inspections, inventory, GPS mapping, and fieldwork as trained.
- Support staking engineers with field measurements, staking sheets, right-of-way activities, and distribution line design as training and qualifications permit.
- Assist other personnel and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently, pay attention to detail, and learn new responsibilities.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing cross-training.
- Ability to walk over uneven terrain for extended periods and lift and carry up to 75 pounds as required.
- Ability to assist during extended outages and use a chainsaw after proper training and authorization.
- Must obtain and maintain a Class E Missouri driver's license.
- Must successfully complete the Cooperative's job-specific physical abilities assessment.
This position includes office and outdoor fieldwork and requires adherence to all Cooperative safety policies and procedures. Training will be provided to develop proficiency in the various responsibilities of the position.
