Hempfield Area School District is seeking qualified and compassionate Substitute School Nurses to provide health services to students on an as-needed basis throughout the district.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide nursing care and first aid to students and staff.
- Assess student health concerns and determine appropriate care.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies.
- Maintain accurate student health records and documentation.
- Communicate with parents, school personnel, and healthcare providers as needed.
- Respond to medical emergencies and promote a safe, healthy school environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Current CPR/AED certification preferred.
- Pennsylvania School Nurse Certification preferred but not required for substitute assignments (in accordance with applicable state requirements).
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and staff.
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Requirements:
- Satisfactory Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
- All required employment documentation must be completed prior to employment.
Schedule:
- As-needed, day-to-day substitute assignments during the school year.
- Assignments are available at various school buildings throughout the district.
