Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Direct Support Professional to join our team at the Hearten Day Program in Hamilton. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in supporting a group of individuals with developmental disabilities, providing behavioral support and engaging in fun and meaningful activities. Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to a group of individuals with developmental disabilities, focusing on behavioral support and engagement in daily activities
- Create and implement individualized support plans to promote independence and community inclusion
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, promoting a supportive and inclusive environment
- Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure seamless care and support for participants
- Participate in transportation runs before and after program hours
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to punctuality and reliability
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of behavioral support and strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and willingness to drive a company vehicle (if applicable)
