Growing Home Care agency is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a PCA/HHA Training Instructor. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys teaching, sharing clinical knowledge, and helping others develop the skills needed to provide quality patient care. In this role, you will train and prepare candidates for their Personal Care Aide (PCA) and Home Health Aide (HHA) certifications through classroom instruction and hands-on skills training. Your experience and guidance will help shape the next generation of compassionate, skilled caregivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person and remote classroom instruction for PCA/HHA certification candidates.
- Lead hands-on skills lab sessions, teaching essential clinical techniques and caregiving skills.
- Assess student performance through classroom participation, written examinations, and practical skills demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, student progress reports, and all documentation required by the NYS Department of Health.
- Conduct occasional patient visits as needed (transportation provided when necessary).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current, active New York State RN license.
- At least 1 year of home care nursing experience.
- At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
