Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced individual to join our team as a part-time bus driver for Gwinn Area Community Schools. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a bus on assigned routes and ensure timely arrival and departure at designated locations
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus, and ensure their safety while on board
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior, including regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Communicate effectively with passengers, dispatchers, and other team members
- Keep accurate records of daily mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts
- Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have previous experience driving a bus or other large vehicle
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist passengers with disabilities if needed
- Must have a strong commitment to safety and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
