About the Role
The Working Sales Manager is a hands-on sales leadership role at the center of our growth. You'll lead our inside and outside sales teams in Dayton and Mississauga, set the direction for growing our channel network across Canada and the United States, and stay close to the customers and partners who drive our results. About 60% of your time will go to leading, coaching, and running the sales engine, and about 40% to selling, developing channel partners, and opening new opportunities, working closely with the Manager, Commercial Excellence.
What Will You Do?
- Lead, coach, and develop the inside and outside sales teams across both locations, building one collaborative sales culture.
- Turn company objectives into sales targets, territory and account priorities, and action plans for Canada and the U.S.
- Run pipeline reviews, forecasting, and KPI tracking, spotting gaps and risks early and working with the team to close them.
- Partner with the Manager, Commercial Excellence, to improve sales processes, CRM use, and reporting.
- Provide the General Manager with clear updates, market insight, and recommendations, and work across departments to deliver on customer commitments.
- Manage and grow relationships with distributors, representatives, and dealers, setting expectations, reviewing performance, and adding partners where coverage is thin.
- Personally manage strategic customer relationships and lead presentations, negotiations, and business reviews.
- Find and win new customers, segments, and applications, working alongside channel partners.
- Bring customer, competitor, and market intelligence back into the business, and represent Continental Fan at trade shows and industry events.
What Do You Bring?
- 7+ years of B2B sales experience, including at least 3 years leading sales teams.
- A proven record of growing revenue through distributors, representatives, and dealers.
- Experience leading both inside and outside sales, ideally across more than one location or market.
- Experience selling technical, engineered, or industrial products.
- Strong commercial judgment, with comfort using pipeline data, forecasts, and performance metrics to make decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the presence to influence customers, partners, and senior leaders.
- Ability to travel approximately 60%, a valid driver's licence, and the ability to travel between Canada and the United States.
- Experience in HVAC, air handling, ventilation, or air-moving products, and selling to OEM customers, is a strong asset.
- Experience working with a commercial excellence or sales operations function, along with strong CRM skills, is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field is an asset.
- A hands-on leader who coaches people to win and can still close the deal personally.
- A track record of building channel partner networks that perform.
- Commercially sharp and technically curious, connecting customers, markets, and margins to growth.
- A self-starter who takes initiative, follows through, and owns the results.
What Do We Offer?
- The tools, resources, and support to succeed, along with opportunities to learn, develop, and grow your career with GLP.
- A leadership role with a direct line to growth, shaping the strategy, the team, and the channel across two countries.
- The balance of leading a team while staying active in the market.
- Close partnership with senior sales and commercial leadership.
- Competitive compensation, including incentives, comprehensive health benefits, and generous time off.
- A diverse, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
How You'll Make an Impact
You'll play a key role in driving our "30x30" growth plan. In your first year, success means both sales teams working to one clear plan with strong pipeline and forecasting discipline, a channel network with clear expectations and measurable performance, new customers, applications, and markets adding to revenue, and key customers and partners seeing you as their trusted, go-to contact.
