Keep the Shop Moving G&D Integrated is looking for Service Writer to help coordinate our 2nd shift maintenance operation in Morton. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands commercial equipment maintenance, communicates well with technicians and operations, and knows how to keep repair work moving efficiently. If you have mechanical experience and enjoy troubleshooting problems, coordinating priorities, and helping a team succeed, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate daily shop activities and assign work to mechanics
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and help coordinate repairs
- Manage and track inoperative equipment at G&D facilities
- Work closely with operations to get equipment in for scheduled service and repairs
- Assist technicians with diagnostics and repair issues
- Help train new mechanics and verify completed work
- Monitor shop workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- Support the Shop Manager with day-to-day employee matters
- Provide weekend coverage as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in a commercial maintenance shop
- Hands-on mechanical experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Experience with maintenance software, email, and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
- Ability to organize work, communicate priorities, and work effectively with technicians and operations
- Basic experience with data collection, analysis, or reporting is a plus
