About Fora
Fora is the modern travel agency, empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs to build thriving travel advisory businesses. We're modernizing the $100B+ travel industry with AI woven through every part of the advisor's workflow, plus global supplier relationships, personalized training, and a vibrant community, all in one place. That's what lets advisors build businesses that scale, while their taste and service create trips no algorithm alone could plan. At the heart of it all is our mission: to help the next generation of travel entrepreneurs turn their love for travel into a fulfilling career, whether full-time or part-time.
The same idea shapes how we work. We're mission-driven and obsessed with our customers, and we believe humans and AI are both essential: the best work here comes from people and technology at their best, together.
Founded in 2021, Fora has grown to a team of 200+ full-time employees based in downtown New York City. In 2026, we closed a $60 million Series D led by Forerunner and Tactile Ventures, with continued backing from Thrive Capital, Insight Partners, and Heartcore Capital. We've been named a LinkedIn Top Startup (2024), one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies (2023 and 2025), and one of TIME's 100 Most Influential Companies (2026).
Come build something that hasn't existed before.
About The Role
Fora is building out its Data Science & Analytics team, and we're looking for a manager to lead our Product Data Science pillar. Fora operates a dynamic, three-sided marketplace connecting clients, advisors, and suppliers - and the product surface spans everything from our core booking platform to advisory enablement tools to new, AI-powered experiences. This is a rare chance to build a product data science function from the ground up.
You'll lead a small team of data scientists partnering with our Core Product teams, and you'll own how product decisions get made - what we measure, how we experiment, and how insights translate into product features and roadmaps. We are looking for a player-coach - someone who is able to manage senior individual contributors while getting their hands dirty themselves.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Product Data Science pillar. Hire, coach, and develop a team of data scientists partnering with Core Product
- Set the pillar's objectives and priorities in partnership with product leadership, and own delivery against them
- Own the experimentation and measurement standards for Fora's product organization, and raise the bar on rigor
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design leadership to shape roadmap prioritization and define what success looks like before we ship
- Review analyses, unblock hard problems, and set the standard for quality on the team
- Help shape the broader Data Science & Analytics function
Requirements
- 7+ years in data science or analytics, including 2+ years managing data scientists or analysts. Experience at consumer or marketplace companies preferred.
- Track record of building or scaling a product analytics function, not just running one.
- Deep experimentation expertise - you've set the standards, not just run the tests.
- Hands-on technical depth: advanced SQL, and proficiency in Python or another scripting language.
- Experience with a modern cloud data stack (e.g. Airbyte, BigQuery, dbt, Hex, Omni, or equivalents) and data modeling best practices.
- Experience using LLM tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex) to accelerate analysis and prototyping.
- A track record of hiring and developing strong data people.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, including with senior stakeholders.
- Pragmatic. Looking for real world business impact, not a science project.
