About Feanix Bio
Feanix is rebuilding animal breeding from the genome up.
We’re a YC-backed startup using whole-genome sequencing and custom ML models to help dairy farmers make better breeding and herd management decisions. Our technology is genuinely novel: we can sequence a full genome from a single hair at a fraction of traditional industry costs, our models achieve ~90% prediction accuracy on traits where existing approaches sit closer to ~30%, and we’re pioneering farm-specific genomic predictions that turn genetics into practical, actionable decisions.
That technology is translating into real adoption. In a short time, we’ve grown to serve roughly 1% of the U.S. dairy industry, with many customers in the pipeline. We started with dairy because our founders grew up on dairy farms and understand firsthand the problems we’re solving. But genetics is foundational to every agricultural industry, and dairy is only the beginning.
We’re building Feanix with a small, high-caliber team where people have meaningful ownership and work end to end. There are no unnecessary layers and very little room for busywork - just difficult problems at the intersection of biology, data, and software that haven’t been solved before.
If you’re exceptional at what you do and want your work to have a measurable impact on an entire industry, we’d love to build it with you.
About the Role
We're looking for a Workplace & Executive Assistant to keep our leadership team and our Santa Cruz office running smoothly. This is a hybrid role. Part of your time will go to supporting five executives - each with different needs and a different level of support - with calendars, travel, logistics, and organization.
The rest will go to running our Santa Cruz office. Making sure it's stocked, organized, well maintained, and a great place for the on-site team to work.
No two days are alike. One morning you might be untangling five overlapping calendars; that afternoon you might be ordering lunch for an all-hands, meeting a vendor and driving an executive to a meeting with a client. We need someone who is unflappable, resourceful, and happy to jump in wherever they're needed.
What You'll Do
Executive Support
- Provide tailored administrative support to five executives, adjusting your approach to each person's priorities, working style, and level of support needed
- Own complex calendar management: scheduling internal and external meetings, resolving conflicts, protecting focus time, and coordinating across time zones
- Coordinate travel logistics, including flights, hotels, rental cars, and detailed itineraries for farm visits, conferences, and investor and client meetings
- Drive executives to and from customer, partner, and other business locations as needed
- Prepare executives for meetings with agendas, materials, and relevant background, and follow up on action items
- Coordinate leadership meetings, board meetings, and investor visits
- Anticipate needs before they're raised, and handle sensitive and confidential information with complete discretion
Office Management (Santa Cruz)
- Own the day-to-day operations of our Santa Cruz office, ensuring it's clean, organized, functional, and welcoming
- Manage office ordering - supplies, kitchen and snacks, equipment, and furniture - keeping things stocked without overspending
- Coordinate food ordering for team lunches, meetings, events, and visitors
- Serve as the main point of contact for the landlord, building management, and vendors (cleaning, maintenance, repairs, deliveries, and services)
- Manage office access, keys, and security, and greet and host guests and visitors
- Track office budgets and vendor spend
- Plan and coordinate team events, celebrations, offsites, and in-person gatherings
- Help maintain basic office health and safety practices, including emergency supplies and procedures
Other Responsibilities
- Jump in on special projects and other tasks across the company as priorities shift
- Spot recurring problems and improve how things get done with simple systems, checklists, and tools
- Partner with Business Operations and People Ops on logistics, office projects, and company-wide initiatives
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as an executive assistant, office manager, or in a similar administrative or operations role
- Experience supporting multiple executives at the same time, ideally in a fast-paced startup
- Expert calendar management and the ability to juggle competing priorities with calm and good judgment
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail, with strong follow-through
- Clear, professional, and friendly communication with executives, team members, vendors, and customers
- Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information
- Resourceful, proactive, and comfortable figuring things out without a playbook
- A service mindset and a "no task too small" attitude - you take pride in making other people's days easier
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets) and Slack, and comfort picking up new tools quickly
- A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and comfort driving executives to business locations, including farms and rural areas
Able to work on-site in our Santa Cruz office

The office is the hub for our Santa Cruz team, and you'll be the person who makes it work. You'll also often be the first face customers, investors, and candidates see when they visit. Compensation and Benefits
