Express Employment Professionals is seeking dependable and mechanically inclined Machine Operators to support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment, performing quality checks, completing basic equipment maintenance, and helping keep production running safely and efficiently.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a part-time weekend schedule with every other weekend off while gaining experience with large-scale manufacturing equipment.
Possible Schedule and Pay
Grave Shift: 4:15 PM -- 4:30 AM Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, every other weekend 12-hour shifts | Approximately 24 hours every two weeks
You will be off Monday through Friday and every other weekend.
Pay information can be added based on the starting wage for this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform equipment changeovers and assist with production setup
- Identify and correct routine production or equipment issues
- Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on production equipment
- Complete required quality checks on ingredients, products, and packaging materials
- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas and participate in sanitation audits
- Record production information including waste, downtime, efficiency, and other required data
- Assist throughout the production line as needed to keep operations running efficiently
- Provide coverage for other team members during breaks and absences
- Prepare production reports and plan ahead to maximize equipment and team efficiency
- Communicate important production information between team members, shifts, and support staff
- Participate in required training, audits, special projects, and continuous improvement activities
- Follow all established safety, quality, sanitation, and production procedures
- Assist in other areas of the facility as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing equipment
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot routine equipment and production issues
- Basic hand and power tool experience
- Intermediate math skills, including an understanding of statistical process control
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and established procedures
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Willingness to learn multiple pieces of equipment and production processes
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of manufacturing or related experience preferred
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for the majority of a 12-hour shift
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Ability to safely work around moving production equipment
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Must work effectively with others and communicate across teams
- Ability to maintain flexibility for required training or meetings outside regularly scheduled hours
- Commitment to continuous improvement, workplace safety, and product quality
