Location: Envases Ohio, Fremont, Ohio Department: Production Shift: 2nd Shift Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts Position Summary Envases Ohio is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Coating Operator to operate our Mailander 460 coating line. This machine applies protective coatings to metal sheets used in can manufacturing. In this role, you will monitor machine performance, check coating quality, troubleshoot issues, and help keep production running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, and a strong focus on quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor the Mailander 460 coating line.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure proper coating coverage and quality.
- Inspect coated metal sheets for defects, streaks, contamination, and alignment issues.
- Troubleshoot machine or coating problems and report equipment concerns.
- Perform equipment cleaning, coating changes, and changeovers.
- Complete routine quality checks and accurately record production information.
- Work with production, lithography, and quality team members to meet production standards.
- Help reduce waste, minimize downtime, and maintain efficient production.
- Follow all safety procedures and keep equipment and work areas clean.
Requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing experience required.
- Experience operating coating equipment required; Mailander experience preferred.
- Experience in metal decorating, lithography, or industrial printing is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to recognize quality issues.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete production records.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to adapt to production needs.
Physical & Work Environment
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, moving machinery, and chemicals.
- Stand and walk frequently throughout the shift, with regular bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work safely around industrial equipment and materials.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes.
Schedule & Expectations
- Second shift, Monday through Thursday, working 10-hour shifts.
- Overtime or schedule adjustments may be required based on production needs.
- Regular, dependable attendance is essential.
