Job Title: Manager I, Engineering Job Requisition: 21118.464.4 Job Location: New York, New York Job Type: Full Time Rate of Pay: $239,200.00 per year Duties:The Engineering Manager I is responsible for managing a team of software engineers and overseeing the development and maintenance of technical systems and pipelines. Specific duties include: 1. Collaborating on the evolution, strategy, and roadmap of the engineering organization, ensuring alignment with company goals. 2. Guiding the design and implementation of engineering processes and cross-functional projects. 3. Performing hands-on software development tasks, including writing and deploying production code, and conducting peer reviews of code, technical documentation, and user documentation. 4. Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within existing systems and pipelines owned by the team. 5. Defining and managing team goals, deliverables, and priorities across short-term (biweekly/sprint), medium-term (quarterly/OKR), and long-term (roadmap) planning cycles. 6. Managing, mentoring, and coaching a team of software engineers, including performance management, conducting regular performance evaluations, and providing input on promotions and career development. 7. Leading and participating in recruiting activities including drafting job descriptions, reviewing resumes, and conducting technical and behavioral interviews. 8. Driving architectural and technical discussions to ensure high-quality engineering output and scalable solutions. 9. Participating in on-call rotations and fostering a culture of operational excellence, including incident response and post-mortem reviews. 10. Partnering with cross-functional teams including to translate high-level business goals into technical deliverables and strategic plans. 11. May telecommute. Requirements: Must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and six years (72 months) of experience in experience in the job offered or in a Manager I, Engineering-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and four years (48 months) of experience in experience in the job offered or in a Manager I, Engineering-related occupation.
