Position Overview
DAn Solutions is seeking an experienced VMware Engineer to support enterprise virtualization and infrastructure engineering for a government customer. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing physical and virtual platforms, including server virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement virtual infrastructure service models, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
• Engineer, deploy, and maintain VMware vSphere virtualization environments.
• Administer ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and vSAN infrastructure.
• Identify and implement virtualization improvements that enhance scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Automate manual processes and optimize application delivery.
• Analyze customer requirements and system architecture documentation to develop technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain system architecture and engineering documentation.
• Integrate new virtualization designs and infrastructure improvements into operational environments.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders to address technical challenges and system requirements.
• Ensure technical integrity and quality of engineering deliverables.
Required Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline and six years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification compliance.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.
• Strong knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM virtualization technologies.
• Experience configuring, deploying, and optimizing virtual machines, storage, and networking.
• Knowledge of virtual switches and VLAN configurations.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and virtualization environments.
• Ability to learn and implement emerging virtualization technologies.
Ideal Candidate
A hands-on VMware engineer with strong enterprise virtualization experience, demonstrated VMware administration expertise, and the ability to engineer and support secure infrastructure environments.
Salary Range Disclaimer: The posted salary range represents the good-faith minimum and maximum compensation DAn Solutions expects to pay for this position. The position may be filled at different Labor Category (LCAT) levels depending on the selected candidate's qualifications and applicable contract requirements. Final compensation within the posted range will be determined based on the applicable LCAT and factors including education, relevant experience, certifications, and other required qualifications.
